VIETNAM MOTORBIKE TOUR IN THE NORTHERN
Day 01: Northern Vietnam Motorbike tour: Hanoi – Ba Be Lake: 240 km (L/D)
AM: Pick-up at your hotel, then depart to Thai Nguyen province. Have lunch at Thai Nguyen.
Driving to Ba Be national park, in Bac Kan province – you will have chance to see a lot of grant mountain view, peaceful of mountainous area.
PM: We arrive Pac Ngoi village in the late afternoon – a community based tourism of Tay people at Ba Be Lake’s side.
Day 02: Northern Vietnam Motorbike tour: Babe Lake – Bao Lac (145km). (B/L/D)
AM: We have a haft day to run motorbike or walking to visit the peaceful village to relax. The fresh air & nature forest & beautiful lake will help you refresh after a long motorbike trip & avoid the city. Optional: take a boat trip around Ba Be Lake.
PM: After lunch, driving to Bao Lac, Cao Bang. Today is exactly the best off-road Vietnam motorbike tour. Just after 20km to Bao Lac, we turn to narrow and bumpy road with breathtaking view of terrace rice paddies.
Day 03: Northern Vietnam Motorbike tour: Bao Lac - Meo Vac - Dong Van (90km. (B/L/D)
Leave Bao Lac, driving to Meo Vac town - one part of Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark. Lunch at Meo Vac.
From Meo Vac, drive to the peak of Ma Pi Leng pass which gives stunning views of the mountains and sweeping valleys. This is the best road trip in Vietnam: the 22km that snakes its way along the mountainside to Dong Van. The road has been cut into the side of cliff face and far below are the distant water of Nho Que river and towering above, the rock face of this mighty gorge.

Day 04: Northern Vietnam Motorbike tour: Dong Van - Lung Cu - Ha Giang (145km). (B/L/D)
After breakfast, we leave for Lung Cu flag pole around 8am. It’s another amazing ride. From its top, you can see the whole of beautiful and spectacular landscape. When we are in Lung Cu, we also can leave our bikes and walk to visit a small village around the area.
Drive pass Phố Cáo, Sủng Là. We will stop at these villages to visit H’mong families and interacting with the locals. It’s once again a very enjoyable ride today that you will see amazing mountain view of the Rock Plateau.
We continue driving pass Yen Minh through pine forest. After Yen Minh, the road climbs over the Quan Ba pass (Heaven’s Gate) where you can enjoy a beautiful Quan Ba twin mountain.
Overnight in homestay at a village near Ha Giang city
Day 05: Northern Vietnam Motorbike tour: Ha Giang – Sa Pa (220km). (B/L/D)
Today we head straight towards the North-western mountain where the main Fansipan Mountain range dominates the road until Sapa. The road is very smooth with a good view of green mountain, rice fields between lovely villages of the hill tribes. After a short break in Lao Cai to see Chinese border, we will have very beautiful motorbike ride up to Sapa. This motorbike ride is up and up till 1.600 meters above sea level. It offers a great view of mountain with terrace fields and it must be one of the best motorbike ride in Northern Vietnam.
Day 06: Northern Vietnam Motorbike tour: Travel around village in Sapa- Ban Ho village. (B/L/D)
We have a full day to discovery the beauty of Sapa – the small town is covered by fog through the year & have a cool & special weather in North of Vietnam.
In this morning, we’ll start our motorbike tour by riding our motorbikes down valley to visit Lao chai village of BlackH’Mong people. Experiencing the richest traditional culture of Black H’Mong people in the region. Then continue riding a bit to visit the Zay minority at Ta van. Spend time to enjoy the picturesque scenery along the way, a mountainous area of stunning natural beauty and diverse ethnic minorities. We will keep on riding down the hill, enjoy the fantastic open views in Ban Ho the most beautiful valley in which we spent a night on the bamboo house of Tay people. The rest of time, we’ll take a short walk to the nearby waterfall for sightseeing and experiencing the daily activities of the locals. Homestay in Ban Ho village.
Day 07: Northern Vietnam Motorbike tour: Sapa – Mu Cang Chai (150km). (B/L/D)
Pass over O Quy Ho Pass (one of the 4 greatest passes in Vietnam). e ride on Qui Ho pass to cross Hoang Lien mountain range- the highest one in Vietnam including Fansipan peak with the height of 3142 meters above sea level. It’s sure that you will have pictures of the most beautiful valley in north Vietnam.
We will drive to Ban Thai village, the village of White Thai people, one family here will be our host today. Leisure time we may take a strolling around this village to see the normal life of villagers.
Dinner and stay with family.
Day 08: Northern Vietnam Motorbike tour: Mu Cang Chai – Nghia Lo (100km). (B/L/D)
Ride motorbike around the Mong village with the beautiful rice terraces as La Pan Tan, Che Cu Nha…or visit some school and touch with children..
La Pan Tan terraces, you should deeply go into La Pan Tan area. On the route, there’s a small trail run along valley, turn into that trail and more deeply go, you can take extreme unique photos
Beside the rice terrace, you will have a chance to explore the culture & local life of Mong people, such as music traditional, agriculture tools…
Then we continue run over the Khau Pha pass (one of the four greatest passes in Northern Vietnam with 40km many fog in the cold days).
The ride is on some of the most scenic roads which offer a lot of stops for picturing. We’ll cross Tu Le and Mu Cang Chai, the two remote lands of Yen Bai province where the black H’mong, Dzao and Thai people can make wonderful rice terrace on the mountains.
Day 9: Nghia Lo – Hanoi (220km). (B/L)
After breakfast, we will drive from Nghia Lo – Hanoi full a day.
In the late afternoon, returning the rental motorbike & say good bye at your hotel. The Northern Vietnam Motorbike tour with Vietnam Tonkin Travel will be finished.
