THE BEST TIME IN HALONG BAY
Halong is a world’s natural heritage with more than 2000 islands, famous caves and beautiful beaches …each year Halong welcomes millions of both domestic and over – sea tourists to travel, visit and discovery. Halong intensely attractive to international tourists by not only the majestic beauty of nature but also beauty of the hospital local people’s soul.
However, which time is the best to travel to Halong?
Vietnam is a tropical country with 4 seasons: spring (Feb-April), summer (May-July), Autumn (Aug – Oct), winter (Nov-Jan). Spring usually goes with small and constant rain, the weather always is very hot in summer, there are many mosquitoes, insects; rain is often and very strong. Moreover, In the end of summer and early autumn there are powerful tropical storms with strong affection. Finally, winters are very cold. Halong Bay’s temperature varies from 15ºC to 25ºC.
Annual rainfall is between 2000mm and 2200mm. Ha Long bay has typical diurnal tide system (tide amplitude ranges from 3.5-4m). The salinity is from 31 to 34.5 MT in dry season and lower in rainy season.
Looking at reality, may you not know which time to travel in Vietnam and Ha Long? Don’t worry about it; I am ready to share you my experience now.
In my opinion, It is possible to visit Ha Long Bay year-round, with the best time to visit from October through April, although during the winter months of December, January and February, the weather in Halong Bay can be cool and overcast with low visibility. During the summer months from May to September, temperatures rise and storms are more likely during the rainy season.
Ha Long Bay Weather in 12 Months
March April + May: Temperature: ~ 20°C-25°C; Some days have light rain; Clear with blue sky.
June + July + Aug: Temperature: ~ 26°C-36°C with strong Sun; Carefully with Typhoon; Some days have strong but quick rain.
Sept + Oct + Nov: Best time to enjoy Halong with cool temperature: ~ 26°C-28°C.
Dec + Jan + Feb: Temperature: 16°C~20°C; Cold with strong wind; Some days are misty and rainy.
